To improve the feel of my Switch I originally went with the hori split-pad pro. My hands got tired after 5 minutes with the split-pad pro controllers, so I returned them and instead went with this. It's honestly perfect... it adds almost no weight or bulk, and helps distribute the weight of the switch evenly in my palms.5 stars! It feels amazing and is great for the priceAs you would expect with an official Nintendo product, this fits the Switch perfectly. The tabs lock onto the Switch without any worry of something breaking. The shape of the grips feel so perfect it makes you wish they were integrated into the design of the joycons to begin with. The grips have a wonderful rubber texture and are definitely suited for lengthy gameplay where comfort is critical. The whole thing makes holding the Switch much more stable, you won't feel like you're going to drop the system while holding on to the grips. Those are the pros...The cons:-Out of place gray color. I would of preferred if the grips were either all black or the signature switch red/blue scheme. The gray makes it look like a 3rd party aftermarket product and stands out in an odd way.-Can't Dock. You'd think that Nintendo could come up with a grip design that would allow docking, considering the dock is such a critical component of the system for use on your TV - the system is called "Switch" because it allows you to switch between TV and Handheld mode with ease...this design kinda spoils that, even though the grip is attached and removed easily, it simply takes away from that core feature of the Switch and also creates the need for you to have a place to store the grip while the system is docked, not to mention you'll need a totally new travel case to fit this monster. All in all, I believe I will be happy with this grip until something better comes along. For the price, it's definitely worth it.Thumb grips are a bit large but have held up well so far. The rattle from the handles where the joycons connect is annoying but not unbearable.TL;DR Saved my wrists, improved my gameplayThe Switch is shaped such that, when you point the screen at your face, gravity is always pulling it down and out of your hands. The standard Switch is impossible for me (adult male, shared amazon acct) to play in handheld mode for more than 20 minutes due to the abysmal ergonomics of the device forcing me to use my fingers to pinch it at all times to hold it aloft, which is exhausting. I also can't perform certain in-game actions with finesse when my fingers have to do the dual job of operating the controls AND supporting the weight of the console. This stand rescued my experience with the Switch and enabled me to play far more than I could before. I would go as far as to say you should not purchase a Switch for mobile use without also getting this accessory or one like it, at least if you have large hands. This specific one features rubberized grips, which are essential. You want the friction from the rubberized grip against your skin to hold the Switch up, not your finger or wrist-strength.I wouldn't give it 5-stars, because though the angle of the wings does allow more of the weight to lie on my palm and pinky fingers, it is still not wide enough for a truly comfortable grip. For reference, they are more narrow than an Xbox 360 or PS4 controller. If the product could be updated to have wider grips, I would give it 5 stars (and mah monay). This grip is absolutely incredible for the switch. I could instantly feel the difference when putting the switch in. First off i wanna get out of the way that the rubberized grip is REALLY nice. My package got delivered to me steaming hot on a hot summer day, but when i opened it, it wasn't gummy at all. Good Stuff. The ergonomics are important to note. Other switch grips add space to grab on the BACK of the device, but what you really need is a grip that comes off of the SIDES. If you have to press your palm all the way against the flat side of the joycons, your hands/wrists are going to get very fatigued. This grip gives a more natural angle to your grip similar to that of the OG grip that came with the switch. The only problem is that there's a fair bit of room behind the joycons so when you hold it and push buttons, they move back while creaking the whole time they do it. It's bad, like a wooden plank kinda creak. Luckily this is easily fixed with some electrical tape. I decided to put around 4 layers on either side (not the back) in order to keep the joycons snug in place. The rubberiness of electrical tape is also nice. It's black and holds onto the joycons more so they don't shift or creak. It's super sturdy now. With the creaking it was a 3 star at best cause boy is that distracting. now with the fix it's an easy 5 star for all the other good reasons. This handy little clip-on Switch grip has made gaming in handheld mode comfortable and enjoyable! Playing in hand-held mode without it was never a very good experience for me. The device just wasn't comfortable to hold and gaming was a bit clunky, so my Switch was mostly a TV-attached, console experience. The grips snap on easily, and come back off just as easy. There is a little bit of play to them while gaming, meaning they're not totally solid feeling, but that's very minor and does not distract from the gaming experience at all. The grips are easily removed, but have never popped off while playing. Unless you're someone who twists and moves your hands forcibly while playing, the grips should remain attached and offer a comfortable hand-held gaming experience. If you're more of a button-mashing, Joycon killer, you may want to look into something that's more of a grip-case, than just snap-on grips. My 5-star rating reflects the price point to gratification ratio. For such a low-cost and simple attachment to a somewhat fragile and not-so-comfortable (to me) hand-held gaming device - this thing has really made the experience so much better - more comfortable, easy to attach and remove, and now I actually use my Switch as a hand-held and not just a TV-attached console, meaning I get a lot more use out of it.Very happy with my purchase. Game on! ?If you are deciding between this grip or the one with the game cartridge slots this one reviewed better online so I got this one. Its very solid the joycons have slite movement but nothing major its much better than using the switch with nothing or even jel covers. The SATISFYE Pro Gaming Grip was reviewed the best but isn't available in the UK at the moment. I would still recommend this grip.If you found this review helpful please press the button below.I had this grip case for only a few days before I returned it. It certainly wasn't a bad option to help with the comfort of using the switch in handheld mode but it just had one too many flaws that I couldn't look over.Things I think most people WONT like:The fit - It so close to fitting but its just a few millimetres off of fitting properly. What this means is that it ever so slightly moves and creeks when you're using it. At first, you think "Ahh ill forget its even there" but you just don't. This is the main reason I returned the productThe Attachment - Attaching and detaching is fine. The problem comes when you need to charge it. It can be a little fiddly and i just knew one day the catch would snap. It became a pain after just a few days.Things i think some people may not like (like myself):The feel - Its covered in a softish plastic that feels in-between rubber and plastic. Almost has a slight stickiness to it? Which is great for the grip (it won't slip out your hands) but it just otherwise didn't feel great to me.The size - I have small to medium size hands for an adult male. I actually found it slightly on the small size. What's good about this product:Hard to say but its generally feels ok, i cant hate on it too much because that wouldnt be fair. Its just a very average product. If the points I mentioned above don't bother you then go for it. However, I can tell you, I've since purchased another product that's far superior and fixes ALL of the above. The Satisfye grip is far better and worth the extra money. Not as comfortable as the Hori Split Pad Pro but using these means you have to sacrifice motion control rumble and amiibo scanning.I only have medium sized hands but this grip is still way to small for me. It also puts your hands at an angle where your fingers no longer rest over the shoulder buttons. As others have mentioned, I had to put tape around it to get a good fit.On balance, the goplay grip is probably marginally more comfortable than using the Switch on it's own and I will use it for fps games that need motion control. Many reviewers have said that there is a Satisfye grip that is much better for larger hands. Unfortunately, it would have cost £65 to import from America where this can be bought on sale for £12.Once out the box it’s immediately obvious how poorly this (very flimsy) plastic holder has been manufactured. I’m really surprised it’s officially licensed by Nintendo! Mine had two screws missing and was literally coming apart at the seams of the parts you grip. Since I can’t get a refund without walking into a post office (which I don’t intend to do during this global pandemic - COVID-19) I’ve opted to super glue it together and use some sticky black tape to make it actually fit tight enough not to slip off. It’s one ugly accessory now but at least functional. 1st world problems and all that. So just bear all this in mind when buying. I couldn’t really find any other (better sounding) options available so I guess this will have to do.Bought for my boyfriend's birthday present. He loves it. It clips on easily and makes it easier for him to grip. Although it doesn't fit in his case, its sturdy in his backpack and hasn't broken. He didn't want full protection so that doesn't matter - it was more the grips I bought it for.He loves that you can access all the buttons and remove the controllers without having to take it off - great value for money!
