The controllers were just fine. Until they fell off the bed and the L button stopped working. Now, that should be fine since i got the warranty plan through asurion. It has been a incredible pain to get them to approve my claim for a dinky controller. In the end, I have to send it back to them, so they can verify that its broken, and then they will send me a "giftcard" for Amazon of the same price as the controller. Either way, I will be out of a controller and unable to use my switch, and will have to purchase the same or similar thing again and wait for it to arrive. Not worth the time honestly. They should have just sent me a new one, and needless to say im a bit annoyed.I purchased these controllers in July 2021 and they have been AWESOME. I love how they aren't overly big, like the Hori Split Pad Pro, but of course are still larger than normal joycons. They feel really comfortable. The USB connectors on the back where you charge them are in an annoying spot, but not a deal breaker. I have the Animal Crossing colors and they look awesome. The controllers feel well built and I haven't had any issues with joycon drift that I have noticed in the time I've had them.The main issue is over a year later (Sept 2022) I've started to get occasional messages on my switch that the controllers aren't connected. In the middle of a game, I will get an error message that says to connect controllers. It was happening on one specific game, so thought maybe there was a weird issue with the game, but I have now experienced the same problem on 2 other games. This started about 2 weeks ago and have had the error pop-up at least once every 2-3 days on average. Not sure if Nintendo pushed out an update that may have caused this or if the controllers started experiencing the problems due to poor build quality. I haven't experienced issues with my other controllers, so don't believe it is an issue with the Switch itself. I take really good care of my electronics, so they have not been tossed around or treated in a rough manner.I thought about buying another pair and just telling myself I got my money's worth based on their cost, but figured I may try to find other options instead. They are super comfortable though and it could be I just got unlucky.Trying to decide which third-party joy-cons you should replace your original Nintendo ones with? Getting your first joy-cons ever? Whichever the case... Look no further. You have found them. I think they are missing the HD-rumble feature and the NFC/Amiibo function. But.. In my opinion.. those are minuscule imperfections. They are actually not significant features missing for me. And if you can go without those two things, these are perfect. They wont drift like the original joy-cons continue to do to this day ( Very shameful that issue still hasn't been addressed with the originals ). They are just as comfortable on the hands, even after several hours of gaming. They will charge on the dock. And while you CAN recharge them with a USB-C cable as well, you don't NEED to, unlike many other third party joy-cons.Long story short : Perfect replacement if you want joycons that don't drift, are durable, comfortable, and chargeable through the switch dock. (and you don't care about HD rumble and NFC/Amiibo support.)Love the colors and the feel when holding them but I did give it 4 stars instead of 5 because when playing games sometimes the calibration is a little offThey’ve lasted about 6 months since Christmas. One side doesn’t do everything it’s supposed to or came with when bought.Unfortunately can't give 5 stars, but over all very nice controllers, solid 4 stars for sure.They're larger than official Nintendo JoyCon controllers, making them more comfortable to hold, especially for people with bigger hands. Excellent value and I love the extra color options. Buttons work the same as the originals, motion controls work great (I'm playing Mario Galaxy on the new Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which requires very precise motion control. I do have to recenter it often, but it was like that on the Wii too).I purchased these because my original Switch controllers need yet ANOTHER drift repair. Nintendo replaced them the first time when both sides came down with the dreaded "JoyCon Drift"; 6mos later the left-side replacement is drifting and cannot be calibrated. These ECHTPower controllers looked like good quality, had solid reviews, with a pricetag less than half of Nintendo JoyCons (which are pretty much guaranteed to need replacing within a year), so I made the purchase. Received them in like ONE DAY, crazy fast shipping.Everything seemed perfect at first- they paired up with my Switch immediately, felt great, played just right for about an hour, no problems. But when I went back to play again that night, I discovered the left joystick was in permanent drift-mode. I went in to Switch calibration and was alarmed to see that it was not even centered when resting (see picture), and when I went through calibration, the last step where you rotate the stick in circles, the dot just jumped all over the screen. Unfortunate, because this was the whole thing I was trying to avoid, the exact reason I'd bought these in the first place!Thankfully I bought these on Amazon, where customer satisfaction and every purchase is 100% guaranteed, so I requested a replacement and received the new controllers the next day (thanks for the speedy shipping Amazon!!). I've only had them for a couple days now, but so far so good!One issue I have to mention; when you step away from a console game, most controllers will shut themselves off. If you're in the bathroom too long or go to grab a snack or whatever, you'll come back to find the screen dark and a message saying something like, "please reconnect controllers". Usually you just press a button and they come back on. With these controllers, there is no magic ON button. If you are using them wirelessly, you have to reconnect both of them to the console to turn them back on, and then take them off and reset connection. It's not a huge problem, and it doesn't hurt your game or anything, but if you're a multitasker like me who regularly has to step away from their gaming, it is inconvenient having to keep reconnecting and disconnecting them.At this time I don't think there is such thing as a perfect controller for the Switch. These feel good, play well, and the price is right. As long as I can get a good amount of play time out of these before the dreaded drift returns, I'll be happy. Good buy.Kids love it so far. Hopefully will be able to spend more time with each other as multiple players can play now.These are great! More comfortable than the original.Pros:- Decent battery life- Rumble is strongCons:- Joycon drift 1 day after use - very very obvious- Slippery and too big to hold comfortably- The joystick placement was too far for my thumbs and its a struggle to use. I used it for some open world RPGs- Feel cheap and not durableConclusion:Not worth the priceProduct is pretty decent, Its nice over all... to bad the left trigger is already having issues. I played 2 weeks of street fighter, no other controller I have purchased has had this issue. The spring is not working. You can still push it down but its not clear when the button is being pressed because its soo mushy and not really returning to it's default position.¡No los compren! The shape is nice to hold- but the left joy stick has started drifting right and it's been only about 16 days since the item arrived. It isn't physically sticking to the side, but it still drifts. Gameplay is definitely more difficult now.These looked to be the perfect replacements for my current joy cons since I had drift issues with my Nintendo ones. They worked nice, felt great... But after just a couple weeks the left joy con had constant up drift on the joystick, rendering it unusable. Had to return.
