WRC 8 Racing Game for Nintendo Switch - Official FIA World Rally Championship Game | Portable Racing Action for Home & Travel Gaming

I like my driving games. I used to love Coline McRae on the PS3 and also the Need for Speed franchise. Now you wouldn't expect the Switch to have graphics anything like the PS4, but it is meant to match the PS3. But I can tell you that it doesn't. At least not for this game. The graphics are terrible:Leaves on trees sparkle in the distance as they are drawn on the screen.Patches of grass appear from nowhere as you get closerShadows of rocks draw right at the base of your car are you are driving next to them.We are talking PS2 graphics here, nowhere near as good as the PS3.Then the handling of the cars are awful. With all the assistances turned on, it's still very difficult to control. And the glitches, things like hitting a barrier and landing on top of it and then the game just won't proceed until you "respawn".Very dissapointing.You can get driving games for the PS3 now that are better than this for about £5. This might be fun for £15, but it's not worth the current £40 plus - it was a total waste of money.Couldn't make my mind up initially about getting this game, as some of the footage I'd seen looked less than impressive, but if you go into it with no expectations of it looking anywhere near as good as the PS4 version, then you will actually find a good and comprehensive rally sim here. For my tastes, the handling was/is spot on. Responsive and not too twitchy. This can be adjusted in the options though to suit taste and skill.There is a lot of content here. Loads of courses with plenty variety. Lots of different modes and cars to choose from, and also quite an in-depth team management aspect to the game. I personally like to skip the career modes though, in favour of quick play and being able to race on any track with any car from the start is a really nice option for me. Once you get into it and used to the handling, it becomes very playable indeed, and trying to beat your own times is very addictive!As mentioned, the visual fidelity compared to other versions isn't great. A strange pixelated effect to fade in distant trees is particularly jarring. Some courses do actually look a lot better than others though. Monte Carlo in particular looks great, with some very pretty landscapes. Most importantly though, the frame rate and responsiveness is a smooth 30fps throughout and without slowdown. Playing in handheld is the same also. No gripes there.I'd honestly recommend this title if you want to play a comprehensive rally game and aren't too fussed about some occasionally rough looking graphics. What I can say unequivocally is that it's by far the best rally game that's ever been available to play on the go. Far better than the PS Vita iterations.This game is not very good dont waste your money like I did save it for Luigi 3 that game is mint and more funFantastic graphics but very hard game play I’ll need to practice very hard to even get in the top 10Great
