I bought this as a joint gift for me and my husband for Christmas - I only knew it was a two player cooperative game and that the characters were married. I’ve been playing Nintendo since I was 6, I’m almost 40 now and I enjoyed this game. We binge played this game for a week to completion. I feel like the storyline is meant to be a lesson in relationships, though at times the characters actions had me and my husband shaking our heads at how dumb they were being. The gameplay felt like a mix of Mario kart, prince of Persia & Zelda, as well as the brunt of gameplay resembling puzzles like in Zelda, but all with a partner to shake it up. It was as I implied earlier addictive to play and the scenery was so fun to look at! There was a lot, but I think my favorite area had to be the “pillow fort” and moon baboon. But then again- there is a LOT to look at in this game. It’s hard to choose. The entire premise is about cooperation, and it certainly tested our relationship more than a few times, as I am the expert in game acrobatics and my hubby is a bit of a bumbler in that area so there is lots of patience involved. There are also aspects of the game where there are things you can do just for the heck of it. They serve no other purpose than to randomly have fun. Like a swing that you can swing each other on or a sled that you can push each other on. And then, I have to say the most intense part of this game had to be the absolutely useless, but very rewarding “ tower of hell” that had you climbing up various moving platforms to get to the top. I won’t ruin it for you as far as what happens at the top, but even though it’s useless to the main story, it’s actually really rewarding just for the heck of it. It took me a few hours of frustration to get up and my husband had to take a break for the day and come back to it the next day, but he also got it done eventually. We were very proud of ourselves lol. But yeah, this game is a solid 5 stars. It was definitely long enough of a game and even when we were done I was almost ready to turn right around and start at the beginning again because the puzzles and the “rides” were very enjoyable. I WILL be playing it again and again. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to get back to Skyrim. If you know, you know. But seriously, take a break from being the Dragonborn for a week and play this game. You’re welcome.
