Deadly premonitions is a remaster of the 2010 Xbox 360 game. Yeah I could go on about it’s history and origin but I bought it in early 2011 when it was cheap at the local used game store. I played though it, laughed at the corny dialogue, got jump scared too many times to count and had a good time. What do you expect from an avid MST3K fan of the olden days and closet fan of Twin Peaks? My wife saw the game back then during a particularly bad cut scene. I have been known to play bad games and watch bad movies for the entertainment of making fun of them, so she disregarded it as “just one of them”.She was not a fan of the bad acting in the original resident evil back when it came out, but she loved RE2.Back to the near present. I told her to try watching Twin Peaks. After a few episodes, she finally “got it”. I said if you want a game like Twin Peaks, try Deadly Premonition. She played Deadly Premonition 2 first, part way. When I discovered that the first game was also available on Switch, I ordered it for her.The rest is recent history. This limited edition comes with a box of stupid quote pins, a physical copy of the game, and some post cards.Today, the Xbox 360 version is somewhat hard to find, as is the PS3 release. It’s a good thing they have brought this game back one more time to rekindle the weirdness that it is. It has earned its status as a cult classic, and those who missed out, finally get the chance to experience it.Funny side story. Back in the day IGN gave this game a 2/10. The studio was small and hadn’t the means to bribe IGN to give the game a good rating, like all big name publishers do, so the game was scored abnormally low. The game now has such a cult status that the later release begrudgingly gets a decent 7/10 score from IGN... but the would score it higher if the wheels were greased, if you know what I mean.Highly recommended if you like survival horror, bad acting, and B-movies. I give it a 9/10 for those reasons, but 7.5/10 is probably more accurate for general gamers.
